Carbon dioxide emissions in Germany 2022, by subsector
The energy industry was the largest contributor to Germany's carbon dioxide emissions in 2022, accounting for 37 percent. Road transportation and the manufacturing industry followed, with shares of 21.5 percent and 16.6 percent, respectively. The energy industry accounts for roughly 34 percent of GHG emissions in Germany (excluding LULUCF).
