Attempts to quit smoking in Europe in 2020, by age

According to a survey conducted across Europe in 2020, smokers aged above 55 years of age had the highest share of ever trying to give up smoking, with 44 percent having attempted to quit more than a year ago and 13 percent had tried to quit in the last 12 months. On the other hand, around a fifth of smokers aged between 15 and 24 years of age had attempted to quit in the previous year.
