According to an online survey conducted in November 2021 in the United States, seven in 10 adults thought that political viewpoints were being censored due to social media companies' use of algorithms to detect false information. Additionally, roughly the same amount of respondents said that news and information were being wrongly removed as a result of such computer programs. Overall, 40 percent of respondents said that it was getting easier to find trustworthy information as a result of false information checking algorithms.
