Ghana: water supply and sanitation sector projects 1974-2020

Since 1974, primary water supply and sanitation sector projects have been carried out in Ghana. Of these, 44.72 million Units of Account (UA), the highest amount, was committed to the Accra Sewerage Improvement Project (ASIP), approved in 2006 and completed in 2018.
Moreover, around 880,000 UA have been committed to the Sustainable Faecal Sludge Management in Urban Centres project, approved in February 2020 and planned to be completed in June 2023. According to the source, this project aims at contributing to the increase in access to safe, sustainable, and inclusive sanitation services through improved hygiene and fecal sludge management services for people living in small- and medium-size urban centers in Ghana.
