Shell had the greatest capital expenditure of the Big Oil companies in 2021. That year, the British-based oil and gas producer had a CAPEX of some 19 billion U.S. dollars. This was over 2.4 billion U.S. dollars more than TotalEnergies. By comparison, Eni had the lowest capital expenditure, at just over six million U.S. dollars.
