According to a survey conducted among European banks in September 2024, 79 percent of respondents indicated cyber risk and data security as the main operational threat for their banks. Conduct and legal risk was second in the list, indicated by 44 percent of respondents. The third and fourth main risks for banks operations were IT failures, and outsourcing.
