Japan: number of children at child care facilities by type 2022

In 2022, almost two million children were enrolled at daycare centers in Japan. At the same time, around 615 thousand children were registered at integrated centers for early childhood education and care. Established in 2015, the integrated centers offer combined services for nursing care and educational classes for children before primary school.
