China: sources of health information 2022

A survey conducted in January 2022 concluded that more than eight out of ten people in China received their health-related knowledge and information through articles published by official accounts of WeChat. Half of the respondents also used health apps, online forums, and websites as a reliable source of information, while only one in four chose to ask doctors online their health-related questions.

29 percent of the respondents were male, while 71 percent were female.

10 percent of respondents were born before 1980, 29 percent between 1980 and 1990, 29 percent between 1990 and 1995, 22 percent between 1995 and 2000, 10 percent after 2000.
