Views of young Quebecers regarding welcoming migrants 2018-2022
When surveyed in March 2022, nearly half of Quebecers aged 18 to 30 believe that Canada should welcome immigrants, regardless of their language and culture, an increase of 13 percentage points since 2018. For nearly a third of respondents, they believed the country should give preference to migrants with customs and values close to their own, regardless of whether they speak French or not. Finally, for 24 percent of respondents, French-speaking migrants should be favored, a decrease of seven point compared to 2018. It seems that language and values are less important to young Quebecers than four years ago.
