Couriers and retailers committing to zero emission fleet in the UK 2021
Several companies in the United Kingdom (UK) are moving towards zero-emission delivery by adopting electric vehicles. Royal Mail has the largest fleet, with 41,500 units. From 2021 to 2030, every new car purchased by the postal service provider will be electric, while supermarket Tesco committed to a more drastic transition. By the same year, its van fleet will be fully electric. Between the two, DHL postponed the deadline for its zero logistics-related emissions, set for 2050. Finally, food delivery company Ocado planned its business activities to reach the target of zero net emissions by 2035.
