Number of movie tickets sold in Australia 2013-2021
In 2021, movie theaters across Australia sold around 39.7 million tickets, up 41 percent from the 28.2 million admissions reported in the previous year. Yet the 2021 figure amounts to only about 47 percent of the 84.7 million attendances recorded in 2019, before the COVID-19 outbreak. The average cinema ticket price in Australia stood at 15.24 dollars in 2021.
