Outbound trips from EU-27 and the UK 2021

The number of outbound trips in European Union member countries (EU-27) and the United Kingdom was significantly lower in 2020 and 2021 compared to previous years due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. When looking at the data available in 2021, France recorded the highest figure, with roughly 22 million outbound departures. The United Kingdom and Italy followed in the ranking that year, with around 19 million and 17.6 million outbound trips.
