ESG investor trends based on industry experts worldwide 2021, by investor type

In 2021, 61 percent of billionaire investors took part in investment activities relating to environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) products. Approximately 50 percent of this investor group noted specifically investing in green bonds. Participation in ESG-related products was lower by comparison among the average investor, with 34 percent of average investors taking part in ESG-related investing activity. Recent industry shifts have caused new popularity for ESG-related products with many large companies working toward reducing emissions and operating more sustainably.
