HPV vaccine coverage in France among girls 2008-2018
Over the last decade, the vaccination coverage for HPV among young girls in France fluctuated. In 2008, roughly 18 percent of young girls had received immunization against HPV at age 15, whereas the share of vaccinated girls reached 29 percent in 2018. However, such coverage had already been achieved in 2010.
In 2020, the world health organization launched a campaign for HPV prevention, as human papillomavirus infection is the most important risk factor for cervical cancer. This campaign is aimed at encouraging youth to get vaccinated. Since 2020, as in other countries across the globe, the HPV vaccination in France has been expanded to boys.
