Private data violation incidents in the U.S. 2020-2022, by industry
In 2022, the healthcare industry remained the most targeted sector by cyber attacks resulting in data compromises. For the third consecutive year, the industry saw more than 300 data compromise incidents, including data breaches, data exposure, and data leaks. In the latest measured year, the second most targeted industry with the highest number of data compromises was the financial services sector, with 268 data compromise incidents.
