Housing type of seniors living in collective dwellings in Canada 2021, by age
In Canada, among people over 85 years of age living in collective dwellings, the proportion of Canadians living in nursing homes increases with age. In 2021, about 40 percent of people between 85 and 89 years of age were living in a nursing home, compared to almost 60 percent of centenarians. That same year, more than half of the people aged 100 and over in Canada were living in collective dwellings.
