Prevalence of multiple chronic diseases among COVID-19 cases in Italy 2021, by gender
In 2021, the share of individuals affected by two or more chronic diseases among people who were infected by COVID-19 in Italy was equal to 24.9 percent. This statistic shows gender differences in this percentage. According to the data, the prevalence of multiple chronic diseases was more common among women than among men. About 27.4 percent of women affected by COVID-19 also suffered from at least two chronic diseases, compared to 22.3 percent of men.
