Monthly LNG export prices in the U.S. 2020-2022
In July 2022, the monthly average LNG export price stood at 12.76 U.S. dollars per 1,000 cubic feet. This was a decrease compared to the previous month, which had been the highest figure in the two year period shown. In June, a fire at the Freeport LNG export terminal impacted export capacities in turn pushing up prices. Natural gas prices and those for LNG specifically increased in the spring of 2022 following the Russia-Ukraine war and many European countries looking for gas suppliers outside Russia. The annual LNG export price from the United States stood at 7.62 U.S. dollars per 1,000 cubic feet in 2021.
