Change in online shopping activity under sanctions in Russia 2022
Approximately 38 percent of Russians admitted to buying less, including in online stores, in April to May 2022 compared to February 2022. Rising costs, disruptions in supply chains, and many companies curtailing their operations in Russia in response to the Russia-Ukraine war were the likely explanations for this change in shopping behavior. The average number of orders did not change for 36 percent of respondents.
