Main reasons for obtaining pets during COVID-19 lockdown China 2022

According to a survey on pet ownership conducted by Rakuten Insight in January 2022, 36 percent of Chinese respondents who got their pets during COVID-19 lockdown stated that they had plenty of time to look after a pet. In comparison, around 19 percent of surveyed pet owners who got their pets during coronavirus lockdown said they did it out of boredom.
