Naturgy's greenhouse gas emissions 2016-2021, by scope
Naturgy's scope 1 emissions, which refer to direct greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, stood at around 13 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent in 2021, down from nearly 19.6 million tons of CO2 equivalent in 2016. Scope 2 and scope 3 emissions, which consider energy indirect GHG emissions and other indirect GHG emissions, also decreased during the period in consideration, amounting to 0.5 and 136.5 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent, respectively, in 2021. Naturgy ranked amongst Spain's top 3 corporate GHG emitters in 2020.
