Prize money in the English FA Cup 2021, by gender
The FA Cup in England is one of the longest-running cup competitions in the world, yet attention has been drawn to the disparity between winnings in the men and women's competitions. Leicester City, winners of the men's competition in 2021, won 1.8 million British pounds, whereas Chelsea only won 25,000 British pounds in the women's equivalent. This was around 1.4 percent of the men's total. However, the prize fund of the women's FA Cup saw a significant increase in the following year.
