Most important sustainability attributes for consumers in the U.S. in 2019 & 2022
In 2022, most of the important attributes of sustainable beauty have stayed constant from consumers' perspectives. The majority of consumers are still in favor of products free from harmful ingredients or products that cause no harm to the earth to produce. As of 2022, however, there is an increased focus on the packaging of beauty products. Over half of the surveyed consumers prefer packaging that can be refilled or packing that is biodegradable, showing that consumers are hoping to move away from single-use packaging for personal care products.
