The European Union Emission Trading System (EU ETS) generated 42.2 billion U.S. dollars of revenue in 2022. The United Kingdom was previously part of the EU ETS, but replaced this system with the UK ETS after withdrawing from the EU. The UK ETS generated nearly 7.6 billion U.S. dollars of revenue that year.
