Value of investments in natural gas extractions in Egypt 2016-2021, by entity
The private sector was the major investor in natural gas extractions in Egypt. Between 2016/2017 and 2020/2021, the private sector invested around 300.5 billion Egyptian pounds (15.7 billion U.S. dollars). On the other hand, public companies and economic authorities invested roughly 29 billion Egyptian pounds (1.51 billion U.S. dollars) and 18 billion Egyptian pounds (940 million U.S dollars) in the same period, respectively.
