According to an August 2021 survey, the average size of buy now, pay later (BNPL) purchases tends to increase with age. Thus, a quarter of the purchases by respondents in the boomer generation or older cost over 1,500 U.S. dollars. A likely explanation for this behavior is that younger consumers have, on average, a smaller disposable income.
