Number of people employed in South Africa Q3 2023, by job and gender
In the third quarter of 2023, most South African employees worked as elementary workers, with almost 2.30 million men and 1.65 million women working in this occupation. Notably, among the approximate 1.1 million managers in the country, the share of men was significantly higher than women, with around two-thirds of the total managers being men. Furthermore, around 95 percent of domestic workers in the country were women.
