By the end of 2022, Germany was expected to reach 3.9 gigawatts of installed battery storage capacity, the highest capacity in Europe. Great Britain was expected to follow closely, finishing the year with a capacity of 3.6 gigawatts. That year alone, battery capacity additions in Europe were expected to surpass five gigawatts.
