Public forest area in Brazil 2020, by state
The state of Amazonas had by far the most public forest area in the Brazil in 2020. The state's public forest area accounted for over 43 percent of Brazil's public forest area that year. The state of Pará followed with roughly 81.7 million hectares, which represents 26.4 percent of Brazil's public forest area. Both states are in the Amazon biome. By comparison, Rio Grande do Norte was the state with the least public forest area in 2020, with 22 thousand hectares.
