Monthly inventories-to-sales ratio in U.S. general merchandise stores 2020-2023
The inventories-to-sales ratio in general merchandise stores in the United States was generally stable with occassional dips since January 2020. Inventories in these stores were not affected by lockdowns caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic either. As of January 2023, inventories had a ratio of 1.38 in comparison to sales that took place in general merchandise stores.
