Latin America: ETS implementation likelihood by country

Brazil was considered the most likely country in Latin America to launch an emission trading system (ETS) by 2026, according to a survey of International Emissions Trading Association members. While 43 percent of respondents felt an ETS would launch in Brazil by 2026, some 13 percent expected one to launch by 2024. The next most likely country to launch an operational ETS by 2026 was Argentina, according to 27 percent of respondents.
