In August 2024, the European Union (EU) imported nearly 2.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Russia. That was more than in the previous month. Over the observed period, the imports peaked at approximately 8.2 billion cubic meters in March 2022, a month after Russia invaded Ukraine.
