As of December 2022, 1,181 financial institutions were falling under the category of people's credit funds in Vietnam. The country also recorded around 50 subsidiaries of foreign banks and 28 joint-stock commercial banks in the same year. By comparison, there were four microfinance institutions in Vietnam that year.
