OTT viewing hours in the U.S. 2020-2022, by CTV device type

From February 2020 to February 2022, the total over-the-top viewing time on connected TV devices in the U.S. increased by over three million hours, from just under six million to 9.4 million hours. The most popular CTV device type was the streaming box/stick as of 2022, with around 4.7 million viewing hours. While the viewing time on smart TVs and streaming sticks and boxes has grown in recent years, gaming consoles have fallen out of favor.
