U.S. player motivations to start a new video game 2022
Good reviews are the strongest factor that motivates gamers to pick up a new game. An August 2022 survey of gamers in the United States found that for 39 percent of respondents, favorable reviews of a title made them start playing a new game. Friends who were already playing the game and online buzz were ranked second and third in terms of motivating player to start a new title.
