Youth NEET rate Mexico 2021

Approximately 18.4 percent of Mexican 15-to-24-year-olds were neither in employment nor education or training (NEET) in 2021. This represented a decreased compared to the previous year, when the youth NEET rate stood at around 20.4 percent, the highest rate since 2013.

This indicator refers to the proportion of youth who are not in employment and not in education or training. For statistical purposes, youth are defined as persons between the ages of 15 and 24 years. The series is part of the ILO modelled estimates and is harmonized to account for differences in national data and scope of coverage, collection and tabulation methodologies as well as for other country-specific factors."
