Annual outbound tourism expenditure on travel South Korea 1995-2021
According to the UNWTO, the expenditure of outbound tourism on travel from South Korea in 2021 slightly increased to around 16.7 billion U.S. dollars. Prior to the beginning of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the country had seen a steady increase in tourist numbers as well as expenditure. Between 2019 and 2021, travel expenditure fell by around 49 percent.
