Used and new carconsumer price index annual change in Austria 2014-2021
The cost of new cars in Austria has been continually increasing since 2016. Meanwhile, consumer prices for used cars decreased most months between 2016 and the beginning of 2020. In 2020 used car prices began to increase with a short period of further cost decreases at the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021. The rate of cost increases for used cars rose particularly strongly in 2021 and outpaced the cost rise of new cars in the second half of the year.
