In financial year 2022, the value of ordnance factory board (OFB) defense production in India reached 119 billion Indian rupees. The highest production value was achieved in 2018 at 148.3 billion rupees . The majority of the defense production value in India was generated by public sector undertakings together with OFB.

OFB is a government organization, consists of 41 ordnance factories, under the management of Department of Defence Production.
