Public opinion on EU accession in Ukraine 2023, by region

The opinion of Ukrainians regarding their country's membership in the European Union (EU) differed by region. In July 2023, nine out of ten respondents in western Ukraine would vote in favor of the accession if a referendum was held on that matter. In the territories of eastern Ukraine that were controlled by the country's government, 13 percent would vote against it.
