In 2023, the total freight tonnage handled at Turkish airports was 4.4 million metric tons. The majority of this, some 3.6 million metric tons of freight, was transported by international operations. In 2023, registered air cargo volumes of domestic and international flights improved compared to the previous year when the coronavirus pandemic distorted Turkish airport activities.
