Number of municipal waste treatment facilities in France 2019, by type
In 2019, the number of facilities where municipal waste could be composted or recycled amounted to approximately 1,200 in France. The majority of them were composting facilities, or sites for the disposal of organic waste. Over 300 waste disposal units were used for municipal waste storage or total incineration without energy recovery.
