Bank account penetration rate in North Africa 2017-2021, by country
In 2021, the bank account penetration rate in Algeria stood at 44 percent, while Morocco had a penetration rate of 42 percent. These countries had the highest share of the population owning a bank account in Northern Africa that year. However, in 2017, Libya recorded a bank account penetration of 66 percent.
