Imports of plastic waste and scraps from the European Union amounted to roughly 263 million U.S. dollars in 2023, down from a peak of 445 million dollars a year earlier. Meanwhile, plastic waste exports in the EU reached 418 million dollars in 2023, down from more than 1.3 billion dollars recorded in 2014.
