Medium and heavy bus sales worldwide by propulsion type 2021-2030
In 2021, electric bus made up the smaller share of the global medium and heavy bus market, with a market share of around 12 percent. This segment is projected to expand through 2030, when battery-electric and plug-in hybrid electric buses will account for an aggregated 36 percent of the new sales. BEVs are forecast to lead the electric bus segments, with some 538 thousand sales in 2030.
