Survey respondents were given an overview of the "ad-supported plan" before answering the survey. Ad-supported plans were explained as the following:
Plans that are less expensive compared to those plans without ads but require viewing of ads before or during content viewing.
It was furthermore explained that the question was not about the advertising plan of a specific service, but that the introduction was considered generally for subscription-based video distribution services.
