For South Korea in 2021, titanium metal material and parts had the highest net trade amount compared to other rare metals, with around 153 thousand metric tons more exported than imported that year. Manganese came second at around 107 thousand tons. Titanium metal is commonly used in athletic gear, jewelry, and surgical replacements, among other things, due to its light weight and resistance to corrosion.
