Value of banknotes in circulation in Egypt 2004-2020, by denomination
As of 2020, the amount of currency in circulation in Egypt reached around 651,167 million Egyptian pounds (roughly 21 billion U.S. dollars), with the 200 Egyptian pound bill making the majority. Introduced in 2007, the 200 Egyptian pound bills in circulation amounted to 3,024 million Egyptian pounds in 2007, growing to 418,183 million Egyptian pounds in 2020. Furthermore, all currency denominations in circulation increased in Egypt between 2004 and 2020.
