Wholesale Price Index of newspaper India FY 2013-22
In the fiscal year of 2022, the wholesale price index for newspapers peaked at over 151, a tremendous leap from the previous year. This was also an increase from the base index recorded in 2012 by nearly 52 percent. The cost of newspapers in India, including production, spiked in 2022 as an aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic as well as the war in Ukraine, the latter having affected the import of newsprint into the South Asian country from Russia.
