Interest rates on small saving schemes in India FY 2022, by type
Between April and June 2022 in India, the savings scheme Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana generated an interest rate of 7.6 percent, closely followed by the five-year senior citizen savings scheme and the public provident fund (PPF). These were the only three schemes with an interest rate higher than the then inflation rate of 6.95 percent. Most of the other small savings schemes generated negative real rate of returns.
